Hello, and good afternoon, welcome to Wednesday, wow, no, Tuesday, welcome to Tuesday, October 17th.

It feels like Wednesday.

It feels like Wednesday.

Today’s another one of those days where if I didn’t sit down to do this now, it actually wouldn’t happen.

And I like the role that I’m on, so I wanted to make sure that it did happen.

So let’s see here, oh my gosh, I thought I pulled it up.

Okay.

Grateful log for today.

Where are you?

I wrote it this morning, and then the day exploded on me, so here we are.

All right, so the grateful log for today, number one on the list is the massage that I had yesterday.

Something that I’ve done this year, since February actually, is every three weeks I go for a 90-minute deep tissue massage.

I have many just, you know, things in my body that need to be worked on on a regular basis so that they don’t become their true really bad selves, and massage on a pretty regular basis is something that I’ve just had to invest in, so I had that yesterday, got everything put back where it needs to be, so physically feeling great.

I’m actually going to be doing a massage, just with things getting busier, I’m, you know, chances increase of me injuring myself because just the way that it tends to go this time of year with the Christmas rush with orders and things like that, so I’ll be having a massage every two weeks just to keep things as healthy as possible, so it was great, and I feel really good.

Second up is turning off Teams notifications, so for those of you that work in an office or have a job where you are required to have Microsoft Teams or Slack or some, you know, Zoom chat type thing that you need to be available on throughout the day, you will understand this, but it’s pretty darn nice to just turn those notifications off and not even be notified of things.

It’s actually really great, not sure why I didn’t do this in the past, well, I know why, but now that I’m, as I’m beginning to move into this, the job that I currently have, as I begin to move into it as a part-time hourly thing, I am taking, I am off technically from 1230 to the end of the day each weekday for about the next three weeks, and so what I’ve done is, so typically I would, you know, keep Teams running all day, be available all day to address things as they come up, have, you know, meetings in the afternoon if we have any things like that, where now I have Teams notifications not even appearing.

So I’m not alerted whatsoever to any messages that I receive when I’m actually off.

And I honestly don’t remember the last time that I did this, but I noticed yesterday what a massive relief it was mentally to me to not even be notified until I logged in this morning and I saw that I had some messages that I didn’t know about, and they weren’t truly urgent, so it was just, it was great.

So that’s pretty nice.

So they are actually off now, right?

So it’s now approaching one o’clock already.

So I’ll enjoy the rest of the afternoon without being interrupted, which is a good feeling.

Finally on the Grateful Log is just the, just one word, preparing.

Really, this week is a week where, as time allows, I am beginning to stock up on things that I’m going to need for the next few months.

Not just on a work front, but primarily with work, but also things in the apartment, just so that I don’t have to do so much running around through the end of the year, just stocking up so I have a lot of what I need already.

So just preparing for, you know, just the insanity that it’s going to be, the Christmas rush, retail, shopping season, leather orders, things like that.

It’s a great feeling to just be able to prepare and to know that as things come in, I have what I need to address those things.

You know, this also ties into with trying to work on my schedule so that it’s more predictable for me on a daily basis.

With all of the change that’s happening with my work life, I am trying to make it as predictable as possible so that, number one, that I don’t go crazy, but also so that I can do a better job of managing expectations of, you know, people in my life, customers, and being included in that.

So just, yeah, I’m in a few, I guess last week and this week, I’m really putting a lot of time and thought into how I can best be prepared for the rest of the year.

So I just, you know, I’m thankful that I have that time and the headspace and the thought to even do that.

So yeah, that’s it for the Grateful Log today.

I am going to keep this exactly where it’s at right now.

The rest of the day is going to go just insanely fast, and I’m probably not going to get anything done that I want to.

So I need to remind myself that I will get done what I am supposed to get done, and I’ll just need to be happy with that.

There’s always tomorrow to get to what I didn’t get to today.

Don’t like pushing things off, but, you know, I’m only human here and can only do what’s possible with the time that I have.

So anyways, all right, have a great rest of your Tuesday.

And in theory, I will be here again to talk into this microphone on Wednesday.

I will have Mozzie with me, so we’ll kind of see how that goes.

Maybe he’ll be included, maybe not.

So we’ll see.

All right, until then, see ya.
