All right, good morning, hello, and welcome to Friday, October 13th.
Real quick, no, I guess I can’t.
I wanted to try, what’s going on?
Here we go.
All right, yeah, the blur is quite blurry.
All right, whatever.
Just, okay, just complicating things here.
Don’t mind me.
Yes, so welcome to Friday, October 13th.
We’ve made it almost halfway through the month of October, which is pretty wild.
Let me get my gratitude log up.
Quite the morning so far.
So apologies if I seem a bit more scattered than usual.
So first up on the gratitude log or journal for today is late night productivity, which kind of is why I’m a bit more scattered this morning than usual.
The late night productivity was very successful.
I was able to figure out a problem that I had been working out in my head for longer than I should have been.
And so finally took the time last night at the end of the like normal workday-ish and after dinner and all of that stuff in the late into the evening, took the time to sit with this problem at my workbench, stand at my workbench and figure it out.
And sometimes that’s just what you gotta do.
And so I had to stay up later than is ideal, but it worked.
I figured it out.
The problem has been solved.
And this is the result of that.
It’s a goofy looking little, it’s a thumb for a leather oven mitt.
I make these things, but I’ve never been entirely satisfied with how the thumb came out.
And so now I am, now I’m satisfied.
So anyways, a little bit too much detail there.
Maybe you don’t care, but that’s what it was.
Anyways, so that’s good to go.
Next up is good coffee.
I had to, for the last batch of coffee that I had in my hopper, I had to settle and I don’t like to settle when it comes to coffee.
It’s a very important part of my day.
And so I had to settle for this, what is it with local?
Okay.
I understand not all local coffee shops make bad coffee, but the opposite is also true that not all good coffee, or excuse me, not all local coffee shops make good coffee, but somehow they still make it.
I guess there’s enough people that like their bad coffee, or maybe it’s truly just personal preference and I don’t prefer their coffee.
But that aside, I had to settle for some bad local coffee for the last week.
And went through it, survived, did not enjoy a single drop of it, but that is what it is.
And now I’m back to my, what I enjoy for coffee.
It’s back in the hopper, so it’s ground fresh every morning and is wonderful.
So I’m back to good coffee for me.
So that’s great.
Next up is the move from the full-time salary to the part-time hourly is making progress.
So quick update on that, just to provide the update.
So today was supposed to be my last day with being a full-time salaried employee where I am currently employed.
Submitted that resignation two weeks ago, so today was the end of that two-week period.
And so today would be the last day.
They came back though with, I don’t know if you wanna call it a counter offer, but it was an offer, a counter to my resignation.
They countered with, how about you just stay on hourly, part-time?
Let us know how many hours you think per month.
And a list of things that you can work on for us.
So it seemed like a pretty good arrangement, still does.
So that will not take place until Monday, November 6th is when that will like officially start.
Officially, unofficially, I haven’t received the offer letter just yet, so still waiting for that, but we have finalized verbally, we have finalized the date and we have finalized the hourly rate.
So it’s moving, like we are making progress towards that.
I do think, and this is a whole separate maybe topic, to record something about a video about in the future, but I like the way that this is transitioning.
I think I like, I actually think I like it.
I always have the right to change my mind, okay?
But so far I like the way that it is transitioning from full-time to hourly with a fixed list of deliverables that I can do.
It allows me to maintain that two streams of income, which I prefer that for sure.
Multiple streams is great.
And it still affords me the mental energy to give the majority of that to my business and not to what I don’t really care about anymore on the IT side of things.
So anyways, maybe too much detail again, sorry, but that’s just a little view into my headspace and brain at the moment and my life.
So that’ll be the gratitude log journal for today.
And I’m going to stop and we’re gonna leave it there.
Thanks for watching, listening, however you are getting this.
And I hope that you have a great Friday if you’re starting it out like me.
If you are at the tail end of it, I hope it was an awesome Friday and I hope you’re able to rest up for the weekend ahead.
Maybe we’ll do another video tomorrow.
Time will tell.
Again, not a guaranteed thing, but we’ll see.
Either way, we’ll talk soon.
So take it easy and have a great weekend.
See ya.
