The last week has been the hardest. Out of my element and so much to write about. My family is falling apart.

Birthday roast for my mother in-law.

Today’s list:
First, a warmup exercise of cutting the end off of each log and sealing it.
Making progress on the bowl.

Also, sawed through this 8.5” diameter log to get at a section that will be split and then turned into a bowl for my niece (fingers crossed on this one). Very productive shop day today!
Split this log and carved handles for garden tools. Christmas gifts for my wife and grandma.
Coffee scoop finished.
Chipped away at my mother in-law’s coffee scoop today and I’m happy with how it is coming along. Fits nicely in the hand, very comfortable to hold. Will tweak a few things tomorrow but otherwise this is just about finished.
What a week. Glass of wine now to close out the billable portion. All day in the shop tomorrow and Saturday to continue chipping through the Christmas list. Will have photos to share soon!
Tomorrow I shall finish carving a coffee scoop out of this lovely piece of cherry. That and a ½ pound of freshly roasted coffee for my mother in-laws’s birthday.
Do not underestimate yourself.
One thing a challenge will alway reinforce for me is that I don’t do very well with deadlines 😂
